It is evident that parents thoughts and behaviors shape how their children think and behave. However, in my opinion, it is inappropriate for parents to make every major life decision for their children. For one thing, each child is an individual with his own character. Childrens perceptions of life may be different from their parents, so their choices may diverge. For another, parents cannot fully comprehend what their children want or need and therefore their decision is not necessarily the best choice for their children.

All in all, it is advisable that parents respect their childrens choices and let them be the masters of their own lives.

這時，媽媽走過來，看到那一團糟的樹葉貼畫，那滾到墻角的皮球，還有搭了一半的積木，就問我：“你怎么一件事情都沒做好?你看妹妹拍皮球，已經創造了一分鐘200個的最新記錄了!再看表姐的樹葉貼畫，做得多漂亮啊!你呢?”我有氣無力地說：“我已經做了很多了，但怎么都做不好呀?”媽媽笑著說：“哪有你這么不專心的，能做好才奇怪呢?做事要細心、專心、用心，不放棄，這樣才能做好呀!”

在以后的日子里，我按照媽媽說的做，做事不再像以前那樣三心二意了。這句話慢慢地就變成了我家的家規。
