     一、內容簡單化
    內容簡單化是考生在構思英語四六級作文時應遵循的原則?？忌徽撌窃诰毩晻r還是在考場上都應當牢記這一點。許多考生在作文上敗下陣來就是因為花費了大量的時間和精力追求內容的新穎別致。國家考試中心在出作文試題時特別注意選擇一些彈性不是很大的題目，因為考試作為一種語言測試方式，其重點在于測試考生英語語言水平，它不像出國英語考試，譬如托福、GMAT和GRE這類智商型考試那樣測試考生邏輯思辯的能力；如果設置彈性較大的題目，評卷人在評分時就不容易把握。
    事實上，四六級作文考試的內容并不會給評卷人留下太深的影響，參閱任何一本考試作文指南書的考生都可以發現書中范文的內容不會有太多新意，評卷人評判的是考生的文能力，考生在構思時只要保證自己的內容符合邏輯，能夠言之有理、言之成理、切題即可，然后把更多的注意力放在如何追求語言的`得體性上；有的考生在考場上絞盡腦汁，想要找出些絕妙的內容來吸引評卷人的特別關注，結果往往是花費了十分的心思只得到一分的回報，有時反而會弄巧成拙，使評卷人的注意力轉移方向，影響得分。
    在考場上，筆者認為考生在構思內容上所花的時間不應超過5分鐘，在認真讀題并將其理解透徹以后，考生可以在試卷題目下方的空白處列一個簡短的提綱，用中文即可，以此作為寫作過程中內容的提示，在提筆開始寫作的過程中就可將重點放在保證語言的流暢得體上，不會因為內容而中斷思路。
    二、結構模式化
    高分作文的第二大策略是結構模式化，這也是最核心的一條策略。通覽以往的考試作文考題，細心的考生不難發現，四六級作文考題不僅題目彈性很小，而且題型相結穩定，這就為考生在短期內提高作文分數創造了一個條件，使考生完全可以在考前針對考試中可能出現的題型按照固定的結構模式進行訓練。
    三、語言要包裝
    做到內容簡單化和結構模式化，考生就已經向高分作文的目標邁進了一大步，如果考生還能在語言的細節上下一些功夫，作文的分數就會更上一層樓，這也就是我們接下來要談的第三大策略：語言要包裝。前面我們已經說過，專業英語作文的測試重點是考生的語言能力，因而在語言細節上下一點功夫就可以讓考生展示自己的語言修養。
    作文中語言的包裝主要應從以下六點入手。
    首先是語法方面的包裝?？忌⒁庠谧魑闹羞x取一個中心時態，通常選取一般現在時即可，但在陳述具體例證時要根據不同的情況變換時態。大綱明確要求高分作文的句子要做到多樣化，所以最好不要全盤使用簡單句，這樣會降低文章的層次、復雜句和簡單句應在文章中交叉出現，而對一些描述性的例證以及臨時想起的內容可以使用簡單句。
    詞匯的包裝是個較為艱巨的過程，但單從應試的角度而言，考生可以精選一些高分作文學習，吸取其中的語言營養，對其中的用詞進行細致的研究和模仿，在練習時盡量使用范文中一些常用的優秀詞匯。
    同樣在引用名人名言時考生也要特別注意：中國人習慣用別人說的話來證明自己的觀點，而西方人引用名人名言通常都是為了進行批判性分析，這也是東西方文化上的一大差異，建議考生心意一不要使用名人名言，而應當用自己的邏輯去說服對方。
    說到這里自然就引出五一個語言包裝的問題：應不應當在作文中作用諺語，大多數考生會覺得這些語言對評卷人而言已是陳詞濫調，不應該在他們面前賣弄，事實恰恰相反，非英語國家的考生使用諺語常常會給英語國家的評卷人留下良好的印象，他們認為只有英語功底很扎實的考生才能正確地使用諺語。因此，在對所用表達法把握很大的情況下，考生不妨在作文中寫一些地道的英語習語。
